📍 Brouwersgracht 11, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Siberië opened on the Brouwersgracht in 1993 and has remained one of Amsterdam's most quietly cherished coffee shops ever since. The name — Siberia — was chosen somewhat ironically for a cosy, welcoming space on one of the city's most beautiful canals. The Brouwersgracht is widely considered the most atmospheric in Amsterdam, and Siberië makes the most of its magnificent setting.
The interior is genuinely cosy — wooden booths, warm lighting, a small bar area and canal-facing windows that frame the boats and bridges outside like a living painting. The crowd is predominantly local and knowledgeable, including many regulars who have been coming for years. Conversation flows easily here; the atmosphere feels like a village café that happens to sell cannabis.
The cannabis menu covers quality flower and hash at fair prices in the €9–17 range, with seasonal variation in the flower selection. The staff are genuinely passionate about the product and take care with their recommendations. Siberië is one of the most beautiful places to spend an hour in Amsterdam — particularly on a clear afternoon when the canal light makes everything glow. Combine with a walk along the Brouwersgracht for a near-perfect Amsterdam experience.
