About Los Remedios Social Club
Los Remedios Social Club is located in the elegant residential neighbourhood on the western side of the Guadalquivir that shares its name with one of Seville's most important religious processions. The neighbourhood's combination of bourgeois respectability and strong popular tradition creates an unusual social context.
The club was founded in 2015 by a group of professionals from the Los Remedios neighbourhood who wanted a private association that reflected the character of their community: well-organised, quality-focused, and genuinely private. The founding group included lawyers and medical professionals.
Membership is strictly local and by referral only. The club actively discourages membership from outside the neighbourhood, preferring a smaller, tighter-knit community to broader accessibility.
The cannabis programme is conservative but high quality, favouring established genetics and proven cultivation practices over experimentation.
How to Become a Member
Cannabis social clubs in Spain operate as private, non-commercial associations. To join Los Remedios Social Club, you must:
- Get a referral from an existing member who can vouch for you personally.
- Complete the application process, including providing proof of adult status (18+) and Spanish residency or minimum stay documentation.
- Attend an orientation session covering Spanish cannabis law, the club rules, and responsible consumption guidelines.
- Pay the membership contribution (EUR 15-27/month), which funds collective cultivation and club operations.
This process is legally essential, not optional bureaucracy. Without genuine private membership, the collective consumption framework that permits these clubs to function would not apply.
Understanding Cannabis Social Clubs in Spain
Spain does not have legalised recreational cannabis. What exists instead is a legal grey zone rooted in the Spanish constitution's protection of private activity and personal autonomy. Cannabis social clubs frame collective cultivation and consumption as a private, associative activity rather than a commercial transaction.
Do not expect to simply arrive at a club and gain access. Genuine clubs are private by necessity, not by preference, and clubs that operate as quasi-public spaces risk prosecution.
