About Benimaclet Green Association
Benimaclet Green Association operates in Valencia's most politically engaged neighbourhood. Benimaclet has a strong tradition of cooperative economics, social activism, and alternative culture, and this club was founded by members of that community who wanted a cannabis association that reflected those values.
The association is structured as a genuine democratic cooperative. Members vote on the cannabis programme, pricing, and operational decisions. This genuine participatory governance is rare among Valencia clubs and creates a strong sense of member ownership and community.
Membership is deliberately limited to keep the genuinely private character of the association. The club does not seek to grow beyond a scale at which every member can know most others. This creates a more intimate social dynamic than larger associations.
Cannabis quality is strong across a range of varieties. The collective cultivation team are skilled amateurs rather than commercial operators, and their enthusiasm and care shows in the final product.
How to Become a Member
Cannabis social clubs in Spain operate as private, non-commercial associations. To join Benimaclet Green Association, you must:
- Get a referral from an existing member who can vouch for you personally.
- Complete the application process, including providing proof of adult status (18+) and Spanish residency or minimum stay documentation.
- Attend an orientation session covering Spanish cannabis law, the club rules, and responsible consumption guidelines.
- Pay the membership contribution (EUR 14-24/month), which funds collective cultivation and club operations.
This process is legally essential, not optional bureaucracy. Without genuine private membership, the collective consumption framework that permits these clubs to function would not apply.
Understanding Cannabis Social Clubs in Spain
Spain does not have legalised recreational cannabis. What exists instead is a legal grey zone rooted in the Spanish constitution's protection of private activity and personal autonomy. Cannabis social clubs frame collective cultivation and consumption as a private, associative activity rather than a commercial transaction.
Do not expect to simply arrive at a club and gain access. Genuine clubs are private by necessity, not by preference, and clubs that operate as quasi-public spaces risk prosecution.
